Previous participants in the program have included Bill Milliken, Otto Linton, Oscar Koveleski, Hurley Haywood, Brian Redman, Al Unser Jr. and other notables associated with the rich, exciting history of racing at Watkins Glen. In 2018, David Hobbs and Davy Jones shared memories of their storied careers and racing at Watkins Glen in an extremely entertaining program.
The International Motor Racing Research Center (IMRRC) is honored to host the annual “Legends Speak” program as part of the Grand Prix Festival.
DAVE WARD & RICK HUGHEY – MODERATORS
A lifelong motorsports fan, Dave Ward’s 35 year professional career was spent teaching at the University of Pittsburg, Johnstown. Dave also ran the Watkins Glen Racing Museum for almost 20 years. Dave will be moderating the Legends Speak program for the 7th consecutive year.
Rick Hughey was born on a race weekend here at Watkins Glen, and that’s a great start for someone who went into radio. Becoming the anchor for the Glen Racing Network coverage of Formula 1. He then joined MotorNet radios coast to coast daily program as the road racing editor. Rick worked for Tyrrell racing as a go-fer from 1972-98. He attended the Skip Barber and Jim Russell schools and started racing with SVRA in 1992 with a Formcar Formula Vee. Rick currently works with the IMRRC on the SCCA archive. He is a 50 plus year member of the Glen Region of SCCA.
